Greed
The more you have,
The more you want,
The more you pretend,
The more you indulge in yourself,
Your pity, your wallow, your sufferings and everything that's about you,
The more unhappy you are,
The more you think you are GOD.
The less you want to give in,
The less you give a shit about others,
The less you give a shit about yourself,
The lesser you are to yourself.
It takes a tragic of life, or the loss of something/someone precious, or the dramatic turn of events, the unpredictable, to shock you out of your greediness.
But you are not a Monk or Nun. You have a life to keep, a family to feed. You need basic materials for survival. And so you have to learn to LET GO. Learn to let go of your ego and go with the season. Learn to express gratitude to whatever you can see, smell, touch, hear, taste and feel. Accept things as they were; Do not judge based on your previous understandings. Throw away your assumptions and conclusions. Learn to strive for better, but learn to GIVE IN from time to time as well. Give and you shall receive in return. Vice versa. Vice versa. Vice versa... It goes round and round.
Learn to stand on the knife's edge; Balancing when you are out of balance. Lastly, learn that everybody's a nobody and everybody's special ---- but nobody's perfect.

Destiny Versus Hard 'I-Must-Win-or-else-I-Will...' Effort
Some people believe in destiny. They believe that certain or most things in their lives are unchangeable, are preset, are born innate, are determined by God, constellations, palmistry, chemistry etc.
Some people see destiny as a lame duck excuse. They believe humans have got the whole world in their hands. They loath lazy people who blame their God. They work hard to get what they want.
Some people choose both... or neither. They work hard and try their best; Only when shit happens, they throw their hands up and wait for the "See, I told you so...".
Which one are you?
Hard working people are mostly technocrat. They believe in everything man-made and is out there to conquer all. There is no stopping them. While destiny people are mostly mystics, or nonreligious-religious hippies, who believe that things WILL happen to them. The world is literally IN their hands, because these people are happy-go-luckies who believe that they are here to stroll along for the ride. *The irony huh?*
My advise to you: Never become an extremist of either! Be type A while you are young, but hastily retreat and become type B when you have reached a certain age. 40? 55? I have no idea. When the time comes for you to relax and look back at life from a rear-view mirror.
Why, most of the time, just stay in between of these two flavors. Learn when to put your feet in and appreciate man-made effort; Learn when to pull out and look at the whole picture and know that certain things are inevitable. Just like death. Everyone dies at a certain future. Danger and death are conditions for adventure. Life IS an adventure, without death, life can be a dull experience. But if you lay there the whole day doing nothing, life can be even duller still!
